Organic Baby Food: Preparing Solids For Your Baby

October 29, 2008 by Alpha Man

When your infant reaches around four to five months old, you may now start to introduce him or her to solid food. No, you cannot simply feed your baby with the same food that you have on your dinner plate. Remember that babies have very sensitive digestive system so you have to be very careful when feeding your infant with solid food. To ensure that your baby is safe, it’s best to give your baby organic baby food. The good thing about organic baby food is that they do not contain any artificial additives so you know that your baby is eating healthy and chemical free food.

Buying and Preparing Organic Baby Food
If you do not have enough time to prepare organic baby food for your little angel, you can simply purchase those organic baby foods in cans and bottles. Pre-cooked organic baby foods are generally safe for your baby so you don’t have to worry about giving your baby unhealthy food. But, since there are some people out there who are more concerned with profits than the wellbeing of their customers, you should be very careful when getting food for your baby especially when you are shopping over the internet.

If you want to purchase baby food online, ensure that you buy these items from reputable online stores that are selling organic baby products. Do not simply purchase organic baby food anywhere. Don’t forget that there are many merchants out there that sell fake products so, be very vigilant when getting food for your infant.

On the other hand, if you opt to prepare your own organic baby food, you should first talk to your pediatrician on how to prepare your baby’s food. Before you prepare any organic baby food for your baby, visit your pediatrician first and ask him or her what you should give to your baby.

Preparing Your Baby’s Food
Your baby is not allowed to eat raw foods until they reach 8 months so this means that if you want to give your baby fruits, you must cook the fruits first. Also, your baby’s tummy may be unable to digest the skin of vegetables and fruits so do not include the skin of the vegetables and fruits in your baby’s food. Yes, the skin of vegetables and fruits has lots of vitamins and minerals but since the digestive system of your infant is still too immature to cope with these things, remove the skin of vegetables and fruits when preparing your baby’s food.
