Sometimes death can come unexpectedly and in different forms. Some leave us because of accidents, some die of maladies, some intentionally subject themselves to it, some just die because of old age. In any shape and size, death of a loved one is painful for the ones who are left. Truly, it is a period that is very difficult to handle.

In deed, the extremely sad emotion that takes place is very difficult to explain to the ones who are not going through the same predicament. Especially when the death of a loved one is still recent, the feelings of desolation can be really strong, and sometimes these sad emotions just come out sporadically from nowhere.

If you are one of those who are going through this kind of pain, know that it is very normal to mourn. Your grief can be so intense, you might actually feel that you are going berserk. You have to accept that there is no time frame as to how long you must feel this way. Eventually, as time goes by, the incidence of emotional spur can be weakened.

Depression because of a loved one’s death can really be draining. It can make you plain wall for a period of time, or it can make you hibernate in your room for weeks. If you are back to your normal schedule, hasty burst of sadness can also happen anywhere. It can happen in the most unexpected places like in a mall, restaurant, gym, friend’s house, office, and elsewhere. By all means, face your emotions. Do not evade it. Cry if you want to. Mourning for a dead loved one is part of the healing process.

Sometimes, quiet moments can be helpful for a person who’s grieving. It is during isolation from the crowd that you can let your emotions be. It is also during at this time that you can meditate and mull over on how you can face the challenges of the coming days without your deceased loved one.

After you’ve dealt with your strong emotions on your own, it would also be helpful to talk as often as possible about your dead loved one and the emotional ride you’ve had because of the occurrence. Your close friends and family can share their thoughts about it too. Afterall, you are not the only one who is hurting. At this time, it is really significant to have a “support group” whereby you can give each other the strength that each of you badly needs.
