Their dance move is called as street dance. Street dance is a universal term for a range of dance forms. There’s the funk, hip hop, waving, popping, locking, krumping, and the timeless, breakdancing. Street dance actually originated in the suburbs of New York particularly in the Bronx and Manhattan, and it was all about free dance expression that’s completely out of the standard form of dance during the 70’s.
Ultimately, the world learned about street dancing, and it became really popular in the 80’s. In UK and the in US, all of a sudden, you can see breakdancers, wavers, lockers, and poppers everywhere you go. Like all whims, street dancing’s fame got its time of rest. Yet, with the birth talent shows, street dancing is again magnetizing people more than ever!
Clearly, street dance is all the rage and it is most noticeable in London, give credit to “Diversity”, the group who topped this year at Britain’s Got Talent. Witnessing their moves and grooves has pushed many young ones and adults to register at street dance classes. It is made evident by the launching of several rehearsal rooms and dance gyms in North London and in other parts of the city. Street dancing has really made a deep impact on all genders over the last five years.
Also in London, street dance is beginning to be incorporated on the Physical Education subject of secondary schools. More and more people are acknowledging the health benefits of street dancing. This physical activity is now considered as an aerobic work-out and a pleasurable way of losing weight. It’s definitely a good alternative for people who feel like having modern fun while exercising.
